He's growing up
Not much to say today, just that after spending a month and a half in the infant room, Matthew is officially in the toddler room at daycare. :( It makes me happy and sad all at the same time. It's hard to imagine he just started Feb 5 and he's already been "promoted." LOL

St Patrick's Day in Chicago
This weekend we went to Chicago for the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament. Chicago is touted as having one of the country's best St. Patrick's Day celebrations, so we looked forward to the weekend for basketball and having a little fun in Chicago. Unfortunately GT lost their basketball game, so that part wasn't much fun! But that's ok, we figured we had the rest of the weekend to enjoy Chicago.
The second unfortunate incident was that I got sick Friday night. It really sucks to be sick away from home. I figured for David's sake I would try to enjoy the rest of the weekend, so Saturday we went downtown and enjoyed seeing them turn the river green. It was quite a sight! Then we tried to go to the parade but we got there too late & missed it all! We were supposed to go to lunch with some friends but since I wasn't feeling well I didn't think I could handle pizza so we decided not to join them. Instead we wandered around the city with David's brother and his girlfriend, ending up at Lincoln Park Zoo. I wasn't sure if Matthew was old enough for the zoo, but he seemed to notice the animals & enjoy looking at them.
Sunday we went and sold the tickets for that day's game - since we weren't playing there wasn't much reason to go. Then since I felt better we went to eat pizza. Can I just say YUM? We have a similar place nearby, that I think does "Chicago style" right :)

So this is it
So here I am, blogging. Who am I and what will I blog? I'm Kaci, a 31 year old wife to David, and mom to a beautiful little boy, Matthew. Matthew was born Dec 17, 2005 and now I'm pregnant with a little girl due at the end of June. I'm expecting the two of them to keep me busy, but I'll try to update things here when I can. Right now I work part time (Tues-Thurs). Matthew goes to daycare those days and absolutely loves it. I like to think he enjoys the days home with me too :) During this pregnancy I joined the gym and have been going to a pilates/yoga class that I love, and swimming a little too. I used to love swimming but now I feel very out of shape so I'm trying to change that. Our gym has a great zero depth pool with all sorts of waterworks things for Matthew to play with so I take him some Mondays & Fridays. I always take him around a couple of laps in the lazy river too. He seems to enjoy the pool, so hopefully this summer we will spend some time in ours.
I'm nervous about how I'll manage time once the baby arrives. So far my days off are completely dedicated to Matthew (well, not completely - he naps & I spend some time to myself or taking care of the house, but mostly taking care of, playing with, feeding, etc. Matthew). I don't know how I'll juggle entertaining and taking care of two small children at the same time. I know plenty of people do this every day and I'm not so much different, but it worries me all the same. I'm sure eventually I'll figure it out & we'll get into a routine - hopefully before I cause any long term psych damage to the two of them!
